He begins to laugh, lithe rolls of chuckling best humoring the hearty spirits of his empathetic youth. Len is clearly bemused by the female when she halts on her heels. Supposing her to lead the both of them to the shrine is not advised after all. He has thought incorrectly to go about the start of their day. It is no true blunder, really. He only smiles genuinely as a natural attempt to let her know that no harm was done. And faintly laughing still he releases his grasp around her fingers and passes shoulders so that he may take the lead instead, his now free hand ruffling her hair at the top of her head as he grazes by; another tease to poke fun at her meekness in admittance to this sense of hesitation. “C’mere, Gumi. It’s this way." Len juts a thumb left at an intersection of crossroads. There is a bit of a skip to his footsteps as he heads down the pavement. And while walking all on his own further ahead, he lifts up his hand for himself to analyze it, staring calmly, sapphire crystals zoning out, diluting when his mind runs on a train in lost thought. There is a bit of a pause in the little contact the two shared. Could it be misinterpreted? Ah— no issue. Len clenches it into a fist and slides both hands into the pockets of his loose sweater, keeping the thought in mind. The broad smile on his face still remains uninterrupted and genuine.
To better brighten the situation, he chooses topics as he pleases with as less effort as he can possibly afford. "I’m quite surprised, I thought you where familiar with where the town’s shrine would be. Have you actually ever been there, before?” Len knows he has. Many times, in fact. The strangest contradiction known as of current: an android praying to the gods under practice of some sort of religion. Nay, he would not call himself as such. He has no belief, has no source of spirituality, but the whole act of it all, taking the time to drench one’s ears in silence and listening to the beats of another’s heart— all of it is quite fascinating, and it brings him such peace within the constant ticking of his working mind. Len mediates at times because he finds comfort behind it. Comfort, and self courage. Sometimes even assurance. A discussion between oneself and their inner conflicts. Yes, Len has been to a shrine for many of those reasons, before. “You know, I’ve always wanted to go on New Years like how people should be doing it, but ah— I just never had the time. People are just too busy with work around that time.” A finger scratches sheepishly the tip of his nose while his mind is busy pondering— busy gathering the memories he holds within himself.
A small hum puts him at ease as he walks, and he will wonder why he feels like this. Perhaps it is the sweet smell in the air or the bright colors that surround them. Maybe it is the warmth shining brilliantly above the world, or the lack of chilly air to pinch what would have been frostbitten cheeks. It may be the season’s natural atmosphere, a capability that evokes a source of tranquility within his mind. Bustling is the amount of people nearby, the closer the two droids are to where the event is being held.
[ Her hands went to her head, swatting playful hands away as her companion’s laughs were drowned out by the sound of the wind rushing past her ears. It wasn’t her fault that the shrine was not on the list of places she often visited. Wouldn’t the “higher powers” be at fault for not “calling out” to her or whatever they say these days? Higher powers, Gods, Goddesses, Heaven and Hell. She was not human, so if she were to “die” where would she go? Would she become some kind of cool cyber ghost? Or simply be stuck in darkness for the rest of her man-made life. His question startled her out of the thoughts she rarely visited. She soon found herself lagging behind the boy and worked even harder to match his long stride. ]
[★]-“Oh! I, uh, visited there once a little after New Years, but ended up getting spooked off by a-”
[ A deer. ]
[★]-“-bunch of teenagers that were hanging around. They looked kinda scary so I raced outta there, heh…”
[ A weak lie, but how lame would it sound that she got scared by some dumb deer wandering around the shrine? Super lame, that’s how lame. As New Years was mentioned she herself was reminded of how badly she wanted to go, but had to stay and preform for the hot shots of Internet Co. It was fun, sure, but the thought of wearing a yutaka, eating candy apples and watching fireworks with your friends seemed a whole lot better than singing mediocre songs with your crusty old brother.]

[★]-“Ne, Len-chi, why don’t we try to go this year? We can get some more friends to come too. It’ll be fun, yeah?”
[ A sudden rush of warm air up her bare legs left her sighing dreamily. What a nice season spring was. Although it was nothing compared to the cleansing heat of summer that she longed to experience again, but maybe this was just as good…? Nah, not even close. The sounds of conversation put a skip in her step and sped up her thoughts 110%. How much food would be there? Would it be expensive? Should she have gone home to pick up her yukata? Were dogs allowed there? So many questions to ask yet so little time! As the shrine came into view she couldn’t help but remember that stupid deer that had scared her just months ago. What a stupid deer. Ugh! ]
